With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.Our Carolinas office is looking for a licensed professional engineer to join #TeamHNTB as a Hydraulics Engineer II in our Water Resources section. The Hydraulic Engineer III title entails assisting with the production and modification of hydraulic and hydrologic designs for a variety of clients with an ability to work closely with other disciplines for most practical solutions. Assignments will include analysis of open and closed stormwater systems, performing hydraulic flood studies, preparation of hydraulic survey reports (HSRs), technical reports, design of stormwater control measures (SCMs), and use of Best Management Practices (BMPs). Apply engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity. Leverages technical knowledge, experience and client relationships to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs. May mentor, train and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB’s clients.
What You'll Do:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, orMaster’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experienceWhat You'll Bring:
Experience using Flowmaster, HydroCAD, HDS-5, HY-8, and other drainage softwareKnowledge with HECRAS modeling software and FEMA floodplain analysis and compliance.Optimizing work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.What We Prefer:
Master's degree in EngineeringEngineer in Training (EIT) certificationKnowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD2 years of relevant experienceAdditional Information
