The Opportunity
To support our continued ambitious growth in Energy, we have a new opportunity for Regional Hydrogen Leader to join in either Hong Kong, Seoul or Tokyo, a vibrant team of net zero advisors delivering consultancy, technical design and implementation projects relating to hydrogen energy strategy, hydrogen production, transportation and end-use.
Our clients are developing projects in Hydrogen production, distribution and usage in industry and transport. We are developing refueling stations, gas networks, storage solutions and even energy islands! We are also supporting the development of derived products using Green Hydrogen including E-methanol, E-ammonia and Synthetic Aviation Fuels. Our mission is to support our clients to deliver all of this in the safest, most sustainable, economic and effective manner.
As the Regional Head of Hydrogen in East Asia, you will be responsible for project management and / or technical leadership in close cooperation with clients and our planning teams for projects with focus on hydrogen.
Your role in our team
Build and lead a team of hydrogen analysts, consultants and technical design engineers for the development of a hydrogen energy portfolio in East Asia Act as the lead Technical Advisor to participate in tendering, contracting and commercial agreement related to Hydrogen energy opportunities which includes providing research statistics, engineering design, due diligence, feasibility studies and project management services Represent Arup in direct contact with clients and their stakeholders in the development of project deliverables Ensure the discipline delivers safe, sustainable, cost effective, compliant and technically competent deliverables Optional: Depending on interest, there may be an opportunity to support the management and development of the team within the companyAt Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Is this role right for you?
· Engineering university degree in the field of chemistry, civil, mechanical or process engineering
· 10+ years of professional experience in the design, development and execution of industrial gas infrastructure projects
· Solid practical knowledge of gas infrastructure projects such as conceptual design, FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning
· Leading role in major national and international projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
· Experience with production, transportation and storage of (especially green) hydrogen as well as development of hydrogen-based synthetic fuels or alternative end-uses
· Strong knowledge of applicable local and international standards as well as legal and regulatory requirements
· Travel flexibility for occasional projects and customer assignments in East Asia and abroad
· Fluent English skills (for other locations the local native language is preferred but not necessary)
