Job Description: This position is for a Master Mechanic to work on the I-26 Widening Project near Asheville, NC. In this role, the employee will perform basic service and preventive maintenance on various types of construction equipment and fleet vehicles. This includes work on internal combustion engines, cleanup and disassembly of heavy equipment, service and maintenance of hydraulic systems, transmissions, drive trains, clutches, fluid drives, cooling systems, steering systems, and electrical systems on heavy equipment. The types of equipment may include compressors, compactors, dump trucks, motor graders, bulldozers, excavators, scrapers, rollers, loaders, trenchers, wheel tractors and mobile work platforms. The position will also require adhering with the project safety requirements and other duties as assigned. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 10 hours per day, with additional hours as necessary to support the overall project needs. The job may require day or night work along with working in various weather conditions.
