PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The person in this position will be mainly responsible for the plant instrumentation and control system troubleshooting, plant projects and continuous improvement support including reliability and productivity. This person is also responsible for the plant support of the Process Automation System (PAS) with respect to some programming skills, preventive maintenance, plant shutdown circuit revalidation and legacy control system upgrade. Primary routine duties involve providing day-to-day tech support to JVCo plants in two major technical disciplines – instrumentation and controls(PLC) —and also include participation in new units startup and commissioning, installing, and maintaining. Also facilitates implementation in the JVCo plants of “best practices” and RCA in the controls and instrumentation disciplines—and participates in generating RCA investigation report and best practices for JVCo ASU,AP Shell Gasification and Purification process plants in the instrumentation and controls areas. Emphasis placed on safety, team work. This position is also responsible for helping to implement SIS revalidation work and eMOC in the plant. This position is also responsible for helping to train JVCo local team in our plant maintenance organization and our JV/Subs.

Operations Types:    AP Shell Coal Gasification, CO shift and Lurgi Rectisol Purification, Gas pipelines and Steam-driven ASU plants.

Work Schedule:        This position supports field operations, which operate 24 hours a day everyday, and as such this position is always “on call.”  Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, but realistically will require considerable extra hours and some weekend/holiday work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

                                   

BS in Engineering. Preferable in Chemical, Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering. 10+ years in gas, petrochemical, or related industry in operations and/or engineering or related activities. Preferably 5+ years in Instruments. ASU or shell Gasification Instrument experience will be priority. A strong background in field instrumentation, including valves, transmitters, and locator is a desired. Proficiency with methods of level, temperature, pressure and flow measurement is required, especially special instruments for coal chemical industry. Skills related to Siemens PLC systems maintenance, upgrade planning, implementation and communications within our organizations are highly desirable. Good office software using skill. Mid-level oral English and written English will be helpful.
