Vacancy Overview Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer – Houston, TX
Our client is seeking an I&C Engineer to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX, for an initial 6-month assignment.
The I&C Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing instrumentation and control systems for complex industrial projects. This includes ensuring systems meet performance, safety, and reliability standards while optimizing operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities: Design and develop I&C systems, including P&IDs, control schematics, and specifications. Select and specify instruments, sensors, and control devices to meet project requirements. Program and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate I&C systems with mechanical, electrical, and process systems. Conduct system testing, calibration, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance. Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, manuals, and reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. Required Skills: Proven experience in I&C engineering, preferably in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power industries. Proficiency in programming PLCs, DCS, or SCADA systems. Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control devices, system integration, and automation protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering. Experience in LNG required. P.E license is preferred.
