Job Title: I&E Designer
Position Overview: System One is partnering with one of our clients here in Tulsa OK. We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative I&E Designer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and refining detailed drawings and designs for various instrumentation and electrical systems, contributing to projects of varying sizes and complexities. Your expertise will play a crucial role in advancing their mission to provide innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions in the energy sector.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs, and working drawings, including necessary projections, sectional views, and standard specifications.
+ Interpret verbal and written directions to initiate preliminary designs.
+ Perform sizing and electrical load calculations, including cable sizing, conduit sizing, voltage drop, and cable tray calculations, as required.
+ Develop or assist in the development of control circuits for instrument components and motors.
+ Conduct lighting photometric calculations and control reviews.
+ Prepare parts lists, procurement lists, bills of material (BOM), and specifications upon completion of drawings.
+ Revise lists, drawings, and BOMs in accordance with engineering changes.
+ Implement revisions and change control per company standards under the guidance of senior designers and engineers.
+ Assemble information and reference drawings from various sources to support design efforts.
+ Continuously seek product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
+ Determine and initiate drawings/models based on optimal views to effectively communicate construction requirements.
+ Assist with field surveys, document existing conditions, and recommend design solutions.
+ Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings as needed.
+ Review and assist in the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
+ Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs for improvement.
+ Utilize 2D or 3D computer-aided design software to create layouts of instrument systems, devices, and components, as well as fabrication and assembly drawings.
+ Create documentation required to process Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
+ Utilize engineering sketches, specifications, and supporting documents in the design, detailing, documenting, and verification of instrument parts, subassemblies, assemblies, or system configurations.
+ Identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials necessary for optimal construction.
+ Analyze the impact of proposed changes for fit and interference issues, recommending solutions or alternative construction options.
+ Produce drawings and deliverables in accordance with company standards within project-approved schedules and budgets.
+ Maintain proper file management in line with company and industry standards.
+ Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
+ Perform field data gathering as requested by supervisors or managers.
+ Track and maintain awareness of overall schedule and budget for assigned projects.
+ Comply with all company and client health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards, as well as federal and local HSSE regulations.
+ Actively participate in hazard identification and observation programs, reporting any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents to your supervisor.
Qualifications:
+ Proven experience as an I&E Designer or in a similar role within the energy sector.
+ Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
+ Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation design principles.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
