The Instrument Electrician will play a key role in improving overall reliability and reducing unscheduled downtime which is critical to the success of the mill. This position requires analyzing and reporting the health of rotating process equipment to proactively identify component, equipment, and system issues. Our goal at Graphic Packaging is to continually employ the highest level of educated and thoroughly trained I/Es, and this role is imperative to achieving that goal.

 JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

This position will be responsible for calibration, troubleshooting, proper repair, precision installation, successful start-up, and reliability of all related facility equipment. Duties for IEs include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting & repair, conduit & wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting & repair, drive troubleshooting & repair, Instrumentation & control valve calibration, troubleshooting & repair, and HVAC work.  Another prerequisite is experience in electrical and pneumatic process controls (transmitters, control valves, DCS equipment, programmable logic controllers, recorders, etc.) three phase motors and controls, lighting, AC and DC drives, and computer literacy in software applications for control systems and troubleshooting. Job requires full compliance with all safety guidelines and policies

SKILLS:

Electrical Experience Industry experience is a plus.   High-voltage and power distribution AC motors and drives, DC motors and drives Control systems experience: DCS, PLC’s, PC’s and analytical equipment Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, calibration, and use of test equipment Control valve repair experience Knowledge of P&ID’s, instrument loops, and electrical schematics Welding skills Ability to work in team environment

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

 General schedule is a 12 our assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

Willing and capable of working all shifts Ability to work overtime

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 Frequent, bending, stooping, squatting, as well as frequent movement throughout the facility for extended periods of time up to 8-hour

Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various office, hand tools or electrical equipment Employee is required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protecting when in the manufacturing area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and times of increased heat and humidity. The noise level in the immediate work environment is normally quiet, however requires exposure to a noisy manufacturing environment. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

Minimum high school graduate or GED equivalent Electrical applicants must have served 4 years of electrical apprenticeship or helper, and obtained a Journeyman Electricians License Successful candidates must have a minimum of journey skill level experience in instrumentation and/or industrial electrical systems. 

Or

Instrument applicants must have one of the following: Industrial technology degree Certificate from accredited college or trade school ISA CCST Certificate

SKILLS:

Electrical Experience Industry experience is a plus.
