IAG Group Financial Analyst (Group Reporting)
Purpose of the roleResponsible for preparation of Group wide impairment and going concern analysis.Preparation of technical accounting analysis on new and arising matters within the Group.Responsible for the preparation of Group financial information and associated disclosures.Responsibility for the consolidation of the Group cashflow statement.AccountabilitiesResponsibility for preparation of Group impairment and going concern analysis, associated papers and disclosures in the financial statements.Active role, in combination with senior finance colleagues, in the preparation and delivery of finance training to the wider Group finance community.Preparation of IFRS accounting analysis and associated disclosure impact of queries arising within the GroupResponsibility, in combination with senior finance colleagues, in the research and impact analysis of new accounting standards as they arise.Responsibility for various Group accounting and reporting manuals under IFRS.Preparation and review of Group financial information included in external disclosures, including results releases and materials supporting financing.Preparation and consolidation of the Group cashflow statement, ensuring consistency of classification and adherence to accounting standards and best practice.Preparation and review of financial accounting and disclosure of allocated notes to the Group’s IFRS financial statements.Review of quarterly financial accounting packs submitted as part of the Group’s consolidation process.Validating accuracy of information provided, ensuring appropriate checks are documented and that review points raised with internal providers of information are resolved on a timely basis.Actively engage with the Group’s auditor on various technical accounting areas and on assigned financial statement notes.Assist in other Group financial reporting projects and processes as and when required.Ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support the ongoing review and understanding of the Group’s financial performance, including of cashflow and balance sheet items.Provide cover of other key team tasks for quarterly close period in case of sickness/emergency, including initial consolidation of Income Statement and Balance Sheet and/or combination of financial statements in notes in Workiva tool (training and supervision provided)Quarterly travel to overseas operating companies (not mandatory) to build relationships with key reporting counterparties.Required skills & experienceFull professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with exposure to financial accounting and reportingRelevant degree or equivalent experienceExperience in a group function of a listed company, ideally with experience of producing notes to the accounts and/or cashflow statementsExperience of SAP and Workiva an advantage, proficient and confident in ExcelTakes responsibility for managing and prioritising own work, with the resilience to work under pressure and ability to work with multiple assignments.Ability to react to accounting matters as they arise.A team player with well-developed interpersonal skills, able to promote good team working and cooperation.Analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to analyse, interpret and present financial and business data.Good verbal and written communication skills – able to articulate and document thoughts clearly and to present with confidence and credibility to a variety of audiences including senior management.Proactive, able to explore issues and generate new ideas in developing continuous improvement measures.
