IAM& Security Lead, Security Engineering

The MongoDB Security Organization is responsible for understanding the Cybersecurity risks and threats that the business faces and implementing policies, processes, and technology that reduce risk in alignment with business priorities. Cybersecurity is a fast-changing discipline that applies to every single employee and is a critical concern for our customers. The IAM and Security team plays a pivotal role within this organization in securing and enabling our business. Our team owns and manages a range of security platforms and services. We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurgaon for our hybrid working model. **Key Responsibilities** Technical Leadership & Security Strategy + Define and drive IAM & security engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements + Oversee Identity & Access Management (IAM), including Okta, 1Password, GitHub governance, and cloud identity for AWS, GCP, and Azure + Lead the adoption of Zero Trust principles, including device trust, network security (Cloudflare WARP), and endpoint security (JAMF, Kolide) + Own security automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu) to streamline identity and security processes + Establish and enforce IAM & security best practices, ensuring least privilege access, role-based access control (RBAC), and continuous compliance + Lead incident response efforts, conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term security improvements Team Leadership & People Management + Lead, mentor, and develop a team of security engineers, fostering technical excellence and career growth + Set clear objectives, KPIs, and development plans for team members, ensuring high performance and continuous learning + Cultivate a collaborative and high-trust environment, working cross-functionally with IT, DevOps, and Compliance teams + Own on-call scheduling and escalation processes, ensuring effective response to security incidents Project & Vendor Management + Oversee security projects from inception to execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business needs + Work with vendors to evaluate, select, and manage security tools, optimizing cost and efficiency + Support Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) initiatives, ensuring security controls align with industry standards **Required Technical Skills & Experience** + 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering, IAM, or Cloud Security, with expertise in Okta, AWS, GCP, and Azure + Strong understanding of IAM protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML) and access governance best practices + Experience managing MDM solutions (e.g., JAMF, Workspace ONE, Kolide) and implementing Zero Trust frameworks + Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu) expertise and strong automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell + Proven team leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and growing engineers + Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance security priorities with business needs + Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive security adoption across the organization + Bonus: Security certifications (AWS, Azure, Okta, CISSP) and experience managing enterprise-scale security programs To drive the personal growth and business impact of our employees, we’re committed to developing a supportive and enriching culture for everyone.
