The Emerging Country Network Planning team is looking for a talented IB Network Strategy and Optimization Manager who will create solutions to optimize multi-year Inbound network topology design for existing countries, along with Supply Chain planning processes for new country expansion. Our scope includes emerging countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Middle East, Africa, Singapore and new countries. As a team player you have an opportunity to work with some of the best Supply Chain professionals, tech teams, Worldwide Engineers, Operations Managers, Finance partners, and business leaders across the continents to design optimal Supply Chain network solutions with an objective to solve the conflicting goals and achieve best customer experience in the most cost efficient way.
This role requires working with cross-functional teams across the countries to jointly define requirements, develop Inbound topology and transportation network solutions, and manage the timelines for all current and future projects. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks/opportunities, and daily change control management. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive interaction skills are essential to be successful.
This position requires strong ability to drive program(s) while dealing with ambiguity, analytical and critical thinking, the ability to understand complex data, diving deep through various information sources, and working closely with technology partners, local / regional operations, and finance teams to rapidly iterate and deliver solutions. This position also requires working across a variety of teams to drive long-term strategic initiatives and driving best practices adoption. Successful candidates must thrive in fast-paced environments which encourage collaborative and creative problem solving and critical thinking.
Key job responsibilities
• Primary responsibilities for this role is to define an ideal strategy for inbounding inventory into AFN (Amazon Fulfillment network) across emerging markets by leveraging optimization and network planning tools while minimizing Inbound lead team (TILT) and cost (cost-to-serve).
• Lead projects across cross-functional teams (incl. Business, SCOT, Science, Finance, Tech, etc.) focused on adoption of a new feature, service, product, or system that meet cost optimization and delivery experience maximization goals.
• Own strategic initiatives and programs for inbound supply chain; develop mechanisms to engage (and influence) partner teams and compose clear and detailed strategic narrative(s) for leadership reviews.
• Understand various businesses' supply chain strategies and explore new technologies to bring into the inbound network. Partner with established markets to benchmark best practices and tools for Inbound and drive implementation / adoption for emerging and new countries.
• Continuously evaluate and improve aspects of inbound network performance; identify inefficiencies and deviations from strategy, analyze trade-offs, recommend solves, and influence partner teams to execute.
• Form strong relationships with partner teams to understand changing requirements and prioritize tasks to meet their needs.
• Contribute to the mid to long-term network planning process, tools, and features rollout and process standardization for new and emerging countries.
• Around 10% annual travel to respective countries to understand local trans operations and processes.
