As a Db2 DevOps Engineer on the Insurance Product team, this position emphasis is on administering the Db2 RDBMS platform. We are looking for an individual with strong Db2 on Z/OS experience and open systems RDBMS skills that can contribute to an Agile Team providing administration, support, and consultation for our database platform. A complete understanding of Db2, including performance monitoring, optimization, and maintenance is a must. In addition, the position will be part of DevOps feature team that works alongside infrastructure and development teams, delivering solutions and supporting of backlog items within the DevOps ecosystem.
What You’ll Do:
Administer Db2 on IBM z/OS
Support day to day monitoring and maintenance activities
Support other development and business teams on Db2 related change requests
Support Db2 Function Level and Version Migrations
Support non-prod schema refreshes with obfuscated production data
Collaborate in Agile Team ceremonies
Provide technical training and consultation to other members of the IT organization
On-Call support to resolve production system problems
Participate in application deployments
What You’ll Need:
2+ Years of administering Db2 on IBM z/OS
2+ Years of Z/OS experience
1+ years REXX coding experience
Overall familiarity with SQL coding
Experiences using Windows OS such as Windows Server 2016/2019 is a plus
Knowledge of IBM utilities
Knowledge of COBOL
Knowledge of Explains
Basic understanding of logical and physical database designs
Good verbal and written communications skills
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Teamwork and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well within a team environment as well as individually
You may be able to work in a hybrid work environment of three days in the office, two days at home. The days are scheduled in advance and change every quarter.
You have worked previously with an Agile team or understand these concepts. You will be expected to participate in daily standup meetings, complete projects or stories during 2-week sprints, and meet regular deployment deadlines.
