Inevitably, given the consistent and high quality of our delivery over the past few years, Procurement will be asked to continue this rate of performance and indeed go over and above this standard to ensure the value provided is further enhanced across the scope of our remit. As well as ensuring that Procurement is best in class in delivering the basics, we also have to look to the future and continuously evolve to meet the needs of our changing environment - reinventing ourselves for sustained competitive advantage.

Our suppliers are at the heart of everything we do. We need to work more closely than ever with suppliers to co-create sustainable practices and bigger and better innovations. This places great demands on the skills and expertise of all of us as Procurement professionals.  

A successful Procurement Manager is expected to be:  

Outstanding in idea generation, ideas that are forward thinking, and that contribute to creating sustained competitive advantage. Strong at selling ideas to business partners, internally and externally, translating these into effective proposals conveying value and communicating it accordingly. Appreciative of the value and impact of outstanding execution – an eagle eye for detail.  Act as an entrepreneur, treats business as his/her own, sets trends and is willing to lead, follow or get out of the way. Behave as a Partner with Purpose ambassador and demonstrate the value Procurement adds to the business.  Genuinely committed to IC agile and sustainably lead business model. Talent mastery, including spotting, fostering, encouraging and retaining talent, is non-negotiable. 

Main job purpose: Ensure the alignment of Procurement strategies with Ice Cream Business goals and translate it into a professional sourcing of products/services meeting the specified needs of the Business at most competitive commercial terms and according to Sustainable standards. 

Key accountabilities: 

Executive Procurement of Commodities and Inclusions portfolios for Asia Ice Cream (North Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia). This global portfolio team overall include Cocoa & Chocolate, Dairy, Sugar, Starch, Vegetable Oils and variant Ice Cream Inclusions. You would cover parts of these material groups.You decide what to buy, where to buy, how to buy, when to buy.Structure and manage key partnerships within portfolios in scope, to deliver against value, purpose, and future-fit goals.Design, Develop and implement strategies for procurement of the respective portfolios and assess, identify and select the appropriate supplier base that would meet the needs of the Asian business. Work closely with Strategy & Insight team, and collect, monitor & manage market intelligence. Provide analysis and support the business with accurate price forecasting. Prepares information on purchase prices and conditions to enable proper budgeting and cash forecasting.Work closely with CRM (Commodity Risk Management) to evaluate and recommend appropriate risk management strategies – ensure the use of optimum ‘tools’ for hedging and also support CRM with the requirements (volume and strategy) and enhance flow with the suppliers.Identify metrics, tools and process to optimize sourcing, supplier activities and efficiencies, including but not limited to:To deliver cost savings based on sourcing strategies and compliance management. Work with IC R&D teams to drive initiatives on supplier approvals / reformulations cost efficiency.Initiate and drive complexity reduction (e.g. harmonization of specifications and suppliers).Deliver the Operation Cash Flow and Working Capital plans for the specific materials/services and suppliersSupport and manage supply chain issues (e.g. crisis management). Measure and manage overall performance of suppliers.Continuously improve ways of working and optimize procurement activities.  Lead strategic initiatives across Ice Cream Procurement Team based on the Lighthouse Strategy, including but not limited to Value Chain Analysis, Vertical Integration, Joint Buying.Develop, coach and mentor resources within a high performing and motivated team responsible for interfacing with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Support collaboration with senior functional leaders to establish short term and long term business objectives. Lead cross-functional initiatives and represent IC BG interests in the management of external strategic relationships. To identify, develop and manage strategic business relationships to enable implementation of the IC growth strategy, revenue achievement, Innovations and new product development initiatives. 

Experience Required: 

University degree.Relevant experiences, at least 5 years experiences in Procurement is a plus.Experience on large-scale change management projects.
