Job Description

The Institutional Client Group (ICG) at U.S Bank brings a full range of bank products and services to institutional client segments across the U.S. Bank footprint, specifically, those with annual sales of $50 million and above.

We cultivate clients’ trust through customized service and access to the bank’s resources and expertise. The one U.S. Bank approach helps companies meet their business needs through expertise in capital markets, credit and financing, payables and receivables, liquidity and investments, and international services. The team also provides access to other financial products and services, available throughout U.S. Bank, that can help middle market and corporate companies work toward their financial and operational goals.


ICG is hiring for a new executive role of Business Development Leader that will be responsible for creating and leading a new function focused on driving new client growth for ICG.  Specifically, this executive will lead efforts to build the Business Development Office framework and  recruit and lead highly performing business development professionals focused on growing market share in expansion markets and priorities industries.  Job responsibilities include:

Drive top line revenue while maximining efficiency across people and processesUtilizing a data-driven approach, collaborate with market leaders and product partners to develop new client origination strategy including name assignment and outreach approachKeep a pulse on market trends with a thorough understanding around U.S. Bank’s right to winDefining and executing brand building activities within assigned markets and/or industry verticalsServe as a mentor and coach for market and specialty industry RMs with the goal of evangelizing prospecting tactics and strategiesMotivate and inspire team to deliver results

The ideal candidate will have proven experience building and leading business development functions in a highly matrixed organization and be excited about the opportunity to build a new business focused on delivering growth and creating value.

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of banking experience
BA/MBA in finance, accounting, or other related field, MBA preferredStrong leadership abilities and strategic management skills
Knowledge of unit(s) and relation to industryStrong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Considerable tact, diplomacy and people skills.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $214,795.00 - $252,700.00 - $277,970.00
