DEPARTMENT: Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility HOURS OF WORK: 4/10s, Tuesday - Friday / Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm / 6:30 am - 5:00 pm LOCATION: 325 E 94th Court Participate in major emergencies or disasters as outlined in AWWU’s disaster plan matrix, which defines each employee’s potential duties and responsibilities. This may include 12-hour work shifts, which may continue for 72 hours or more starting at any time an event might occur, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. Example of Duties Under the supervision of the Technical Services Manager and guidance of the SCADA Senior System Analyst, maintain and improve the cybersecurity resilience of all of the utility’s operating technology (OT) equipment. This includes installing software updates, firmware upgrades, and configuring industrial computer security settings (PLC). Stay informed on developing cybersecurity threats particular to operating technology. Practice good cyber hygiene and maintain security access to remote sites for all operations, contractors, and maintenance personnel. Troubleshoot and repair, communication failures that result from radio, Ethernet, or industrial network equipment failures. Systems analysis and application support during the planning, design, implementation, testing, coordination and maintenance of computer and information systems. Ensure all the utility's industrial automation equipment, production, and SCADA networks operate with minimal interruptions. This includes troubleshooting and repairing motor control equipment, motorized valves, industrial networks, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), network cards, IO modules, operator interfaces, and the central Human Machine Interface. Perform other required duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and eight (8) years of experience designing, constructing, programming and commissioning plant-floor automation systems and graphic user interfaces. OR High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and five (5) years of experience designing, constructing, programming and commissioning plant-floor automation systems and graphic user interfaces, and three (3) years of experience with hydraulic instrumentation and/or industrial electrical control. OR Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or related discipline, and six (6) years of experience designing, constructing, programming and commissioning plant-floor automation systems and graphic user interfaces. OR Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or related discipline, and three (3) years of experience designing, constructing, programming and commissioning plant-floor automation systems and graphic user interfaces, and three (3) years of experience with hydraulic instrumentation and/or industrial electrical control. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Programming, or related discipline, and four (4) years of experience designing, constructing, programming and commissioning plant-floor automation systems and graphic user interfaces. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Programming, or related discipline, and two (2) of experience designing, constructing, programming and commissioning plant-floor automation systems and graphic user interfaces, and two (2) years of experience with hydraulic instrumentation and/or industrial electrical control.
