ICT Manufacturing Launch Manager

ICT Launch Manager provides technical and project leadership for IT activities that support Product Launch projects at manufacturing facilities in North America (US, Canada and Mexico). This position is responsible for coordinating all IT activities for the Product Launch Program, as well as being the interface between IT and the Business. 

 

These projects and programs require a fully dedicated project manager due to the level of complexity, degree of intricate detail and accountability to senior leadership. These projects, typically lasting 2 years or longer, have a large diverse set of stakeholders, utilize vendor participation, require coordination of multiple stakeholders, complex schedules, and significant integration with other systems. 

This position will lead status meetings with project team, make presentations on the project’s status to management and directors, implement and streamline consistent processes across project teams, develop and maintain project documentation such as project schedule, project log, meeting minutes, and lessons learned.  Additionally, this position will facilitate meetings with business partners to resolve complex problems and review project updates.  

 

The Launch Manager is expected to work with a level of independence, but reporting to a IT Manager. Familiar with a variety of standard Project Manager concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as budget and finance. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Presence in plant is required, typically during integration and startup phases.  

 

Major Duties 

Support the Project Initialization and Planning processes Prepare IT budget for manufacturing launches based on high-level scope requirements from the Business Developing project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility Leading the request for RFQ/RFP/RFI project IT components as required Manage ordering of IT hardware and software for launch support Analyze business processes and make recommendations for improvements Provide Project Management support during the Implementation of Manufacturing Launches Developing and maintaining project document assets (schedules, risk logs, issue logs, etc.) Project Management and integration of mission critical plant applications for new product deployments Ability to obtain an expert level of knowledge for plant applications used by the local plant, allowing assistance in troubleshooting system issues, manage the configuration of applications and network deployment and integration Coordinate and Deploy resources to critical path areas to ensure project deliverables are on-time Monitor and report IT systems implementation progress as required during launches   Ability to distil complex issues for reporting to various levels of Project Stakeholders/Management Ability to communicate effectively with the Skilled Trades on the Plant Floor, to the Vice President owning the Launch Maintaining and distribution of key project documents (schedules, progress trackers, etc.) Adhere to governance by maintaining IT standards and guidelines within the local IT infrastructure Ensure all technologies that are incorporated into the physical environment are approved for use Follow change control, processes and changes Ensure that service performance agreements are met, and issues are escalated as appropriate

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology (IT) related field 5+ Years of Project Management experience on large projects ($3M+) Must be self-directed and work independently Expert communication skills Ability to make tough calls working with bargaining and non-bargaining personnel Ability to manage large complex projects and assign tasks to team members Ensure freedom of information with all levels of employees and management  Balance multiple demands from business partners and IT senior management  Exhibit strong business discipline and acumen Build effective relationships across all levels of employees and management Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) Familiarity with MS Project Budget Generation and Management, Project Scope Development and Management, and Risk Management

Preferred Qualifications: 

Understanding of machine monitoring, performance and quality systems, component tracking, common plant and office network environments Previous experience managing large/complex IT Projects Experience working in a Manufacturing environment PMP Certified Knowledge of PMBoK Project Management Methodologies Project Management experience leading diverse teams preferred Master's degree in IT, Engineering, or Business preferred EOE / Disability / Veteran
