HDR is looking for an Idaho Water Business Development Managerto join our established and successful team.This position is responsible for leading marketing and business development activities to meet Net Fee Booked (NFB) goals, while positioning our Idaho WBG for year-over-year growth across our four Market Sectors (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Water Resources Management and Federal Water). This position will work closely with the Idaho Water Business Group Manager, Idaho Area Business Development Leader, Project Managers, Client Service Managers, Technical Leadership and Business Operations Management to be successful in this role. Duties include: leading the development and implementation of an overall growth strategy; maintaining and expanding existing client relationships; identifying, establishing, and growing relationships with new target clients; developing market networks; positioning HDR for project opportunities that result in client selection and award; leading project pursuits, including development of winning approaches, preparation of proposals and presentations in collaboration with Idaho marketing staff, quality review, and coaching presentation teams.

In the role of Idaho MS Water Business Development Manager, we'll count on you to:

Partner with program and operations leadership to develop and implement an annual plan, including strategies and tactics for achieving financial goals.Analyze and qualify potential clients that align with professional and financial value to the firm.Monitor new market trends and participate in the development and implementation of local and regional strategic and tactical planning.Identify and leverage contacts and assist in building relationships with targeted clients.Partner with our business group and market sector leaders, client managers, senior consultants, area managers, project teams, and others within the firm to leverage relationships and experience in the pursuit of new opportunitiesto meet financial metrics and build our programParticipate in industry conferences, seminars, professional associations, and other external water-focused organizations such as PNCWA, RRNW, AWRA, AWWA, AWEA, AWWI, and others you identifyto develop business contacts, promote HDR, and engage potential clients and partners.Maintain client relationships and, in certain cases, support project delivery by serving as Project Principal or Project Manager for key clients.Identify and develop potential projects and collaborate with national and local resources to develop and implement successful proposals and interviews that result in shortlisting and selection.Collaborate with Idaho’s marketing services staff, including marketing coordinators and proposal managers, to develop qualifications, proposals, interview presentations, specialty brochures, and other marketing information promoting the water program.Implement company marketing policies and procedures.

Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in an engineering (preferred), professional, or related field.Professional engineering registration in Idaho is strongly preferred, or similar technical credentials/experience.15 years of experience with program development, pursuit management, and client relationship development in the water consulting industry.Proven business development success in the water consulting industry.Existing network of clients and teaming partners in Idaho is preferred.Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.Commitment to HDR’s core values of quality work and continuous improvement.Commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture.Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others Demonstrated ability to build a network of clients and industry partners Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff
