What is the Opportunity?
As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.

 

Reporting to the IDD Manager, the student will provide support the team with Digital Integration across project disciplines (design, estimating, planning, & construction), enabling digital construction through leveraging the BIM Data.

 

Please note this term will be 8-12 months.

 

What You'll Do Here:

Support IDD team with document production to enable IDD for project execution, through Excel and other integration platforms. Support team with CAD Production and 3D Modelling activities. Support with developing algorithmic processes and scripting, (Dynamo, Python, LISP, VBA). Support with 3D model coordination and clash detection and reporting. Support team with systems set up and management – Assemble systems and ACC Report on information modelling quality. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. An understanding of the BIM process. An understanding of the Connected Data Environment is and how it supports projects. Working knowledge of EHS regulations. An understanding of 3D information modelling and CAD production skills within Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD would be strongly desired. An understanding design and construction phases and alignment with the Digital Plan of Works. Skills in coordinating Reporting activities. Drawing production – CAD Experience is an asset. Basic 3D Modelling capability in a 3D Modelling package is an asset. Ability to write BIM reports is an asset. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Proven track record of good performance and attendance. Good communication and organizational skills are essential. Basic presentation skills.
