The CBP Data Center Support Services project provides comprehensive data center support to the CBP Office of Information Technology (OIT) in the area of Enterprise Infrastructure. As an Identity Management Directory Services Administrator, the candidate will be responsible for assisting senior team members with LDAP/Directory Services products in Identity and Access Management. The candidate should be able to apply fundamental processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments, as well as help maintain documentation of existing processes and procedures, with an eye towards efficiency through automation or manual processes. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies. Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with customers are essential. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: + Assist in the administration of LDAP/Directory Services products in Identity and Access Management, including Red Hat Directory Server, RadiantOne Identity Data Platform, and Shibboleth. + Apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments under supervision. + Maintain collaboration sites for onboarding documentation and access to OIT CM tools for baseline code and product configuration. + Support ongoing development for new policy creation and configure commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software to meet evolving customer requirements and security policies. + Support the review of existing processes and procedures to implement efficiency improvements, including automation of manual activities wherever possible. + Perform installations and configurations for LDAP/Directory Services products such as Red Hat Directory Server and RadiantOne Identity Data Platform. + Install and configure the Single Sign-On (SSO) product, Shibboleth. + Perform patching and system updates as necessary to ensure system integrity and security. + Analyze and resolve infrastructure issues between LDAP/Directory Services products and enterprise environments. + Interface with customers to support onboarding activities and address end-user support issues. + Utilize tools such as Splunk for auditing and logging with LDAP/Directory Services products. + Provide knowledge transfer and hands-on training to team members. + Create and maintain documentation of all installations, upgrades, change requests, and related activities in a centralized repository. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: + Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management fundamentals. + Experience with Red Hat Linux operating systems. + Familiarity with LDAP/Directory Services products: Red Hat Directory Server and RadiantOne Identity Data Platform. + Experience with and/or eagerness to learn and work with the SSO product Shibboleth. + Ability to perform basic troubleshooting steps and resolve end-user support issues. + Willingness to participate in rotational on-call support after hours. + Experience with Java, an object-oriented programming (OOP) language. + Understanding of SAML Authentication protocols. + Knowledge of various toolsets, technologies, and implementation environments. + Proficiency with Linux-based systems and cloud computing fundamentals. + Understanding of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations. + Ability to self-manage assigned tasks and projects with minimal direction. + Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. PREFERED TECHNICAL SKILLS: + Experience with the design and implementation of LDAP/Directory Services solutions. + Technical familiarity with: Shibboleth, OKTA, Apache HTTP Server, Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Shell scripting, Bash scripting, Java development and APIs, Tomcat, SSL/PKI infrastructure, Automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible) EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS: + U.S. Citizenship required. + 1-3 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. A BS degree can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience. + Relevant certifications in Red Hat Linux, LDAP/Directory Services, or related technologies are a plus. + Limited CBP Background Investigation required to start.
