PwC Romania’s capital markets and accounting advisory services (CMAAS) professionals advise our clients across the deal spectrum to capture value. With a consulting mindset, we solve our clients’ complex accounting and financial reporting issues around deals or other transformational events. In CMAAS, we offer tailored advice to a broad range of businesses; from smaller entrepreneurial companies, to larger national or multinational companies. No two projects are ever the same for us - they include GAAP conversions and complex accounting issues (IFRS, OMFP, Group reporting package), costing projects, IPOs, Pre and Post Deal advice, Future of finance, XBRL, etc. In order to develop the expansion of our CMAAS team, we are currently looking for a: IFRS Specialist
The Opportunity
A career within the Accounting Advisory Services team, will give you the opportunity to coordinate and ensuring end-to-end delivery of our accounting advisory assignments. You will discuss on a day-to-day basis with key professionals from different companies and will work together with other colleagues from different lines of services and/or different countries on common initiatives. As a result, this role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to develop your personal and technical skills.
What you will be doing:
Support companies in implementing and understanding IFRS accounting standards, such as IFRS 9, IFRS 16, IFRS 15, IFRS 2 etc;Assisting our clients in preparing IFRS financial statements (individual and consolidated);Providing subject matter expertise on technical accounting as well as practical implications relating to IFRS standards.Technical accounting support on accounting and accounting framework change projects such as IFRS conversionResponding to clients’ ongoing ad-hoc accounting queries.Organize and deliver technical events and IFRS trainings for our clients;Providing valuable expert resources to clients to assist finance and reporting teams on the enhancement of financial reporting processes, implementation of complex finance changes or transactions requiring technical expertise.Working in regional teams on various projects (e.g GloBE Pillar2)Establish and maintain relationship with client management;Co-ordination of project deliverables, preparation and supervision of project timetables;Contribution to business development and the sales process;Managing performance and identifying opportunities to improve our products and processes.What we need from you
University degree in economy, accounting or finance;Minimum 5 years of relevant financial experience in an IFRS reporting environment. Previous experience in a Big4 represents a plus.Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting;Strong English language skills;ACCA - qualified or in progress;Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levelsWell-developed listening and questioning techniques, supported by strong analytical skills and organisational abilitiesStrong team working skills, with experience in supervising and developing junior staffA strong desire for continuous improvement and client facing responsibilitiesWhat we offer
