Title:
IllustratorKBR is seeking an Illustrator in support of our TRITON customer, located in Orange Park, Florida. In this role you will design and develops graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, manuals, and publications in close collaboration with technical writers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
This contract provides for sustainment, engineering, logistics, test, mission control, and operator training systems support for MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This effort also includes procurement of field service representatives and technical support to ensure that the MQ-4C Triton UAS aircraft are mission-capable for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions supporting Triton’s early operational capability and initial operating capability.
Role and Responsibilities:
Designs and develops graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, manuals, and publications in close collaboration with technical writers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
Operates computer hardware and software to prepare, revise, print and store text, illustrations, graphs, charts, etc.
Renders concept art and technical illustrations from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions, and imagination.
Selects type, places lettering, lays out material, or performs related duties. Determines style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effects and conforms to reproduction requirements or follows specific instructions regarding these variables.
Be able to convert source files (.AI, .PDF, .PNG, etc.) to a CGM format output.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, with at least 2 years of related experience. In lieu of formal education, 10 years of equivalent related experience.
Must have - Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator experience.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience performing research, review, and understand technical information and develop procedural information for technical documentation.
Must have prior experience translating written requests to visual illustrations through an iterative process, collaboration, relying on end user requirements, engineering data, and subject matter expert input.
Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience working with military technical documents, delivery, and integrated logistics support (ARs, MIL STDs and MIL-PRFs, IETMs, TPDRs, DIDs, etc.) is recommended.
Naval aviation maintenance experience is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.
Familiarity with XML integrated graphics (hotspots, etc.)
Experience with ASD S1000D process Data Modules.
SDI Editor, VizEx Editor, IsoDraw, SolidWorks and/or Catia experience is a plus.
Knowledge of Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development procedures using S1000D, and DoD MIL-STDs; Document Type Definitions, and style sheets used to develop product deliverables for all classes of IETMs is a plus.
Experience with the EAGLE Publishing System, the NAVAIR Enterprise Common Source Data Base (highly desirable) or equivalent capability.

$76,300 - $114,400The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation.
