ILS Middle Office - Reinsurance Accountant (100% - m/f/d)

Job specification

Provide operational and reinsurance accounting support to the Insurance Linked Securities teamManaging private reinsurance transactions lifecycle activities (trade and payment execution, liaison with Schroders and external counterparts to transaction management, review of reinsurance accounting entries which includes reinsurance premium and claims accounting)Ensure the monitoring, control oversight of the operational and accounts administration of various reinsurance entitiesAnalysis, control and management of data for internal and external reportingLiaise and closely cooperate with the insurance managers on reserving and trustee related tasks which includes support with collateral management (trust funding, KYC, monitoring of trustee counterparty limits and fees, trapped collateral and collateral roll-over computations)Participate and support projects, implement operational changes, process developments and product onboardingsEnsure smooth interfacing with all relevant Schroders Group operational counterpartiesThe above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your evolving role within Schroders

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or a related areaSuccessful completion of industry professional designations preferable, such as CPCU, AIAF or AReAt least 5 years reinsurance accounting experience requiredExperience in Finance and/or Reinsurance industry or equivalent combination of training and experienceKnowledge of various forms of reinsurance, specifically to non-proportional and quota share contractsApplication and calculation of reinsurance contract termsAbility to disseminate claims and loss reportingStrong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word), MS PowerBI is a plusDeadline driven and the ability to work under pressureExcellent research and analytical skills, robust financial reconciliation skillsTeam player and having the ability to take ownership of the task at handFluent in English, German is a plus
