As an Image Center Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing patient demographics, registration, billing, appointment scheduling, check in/out at the desk, visit preparation, patient and record tracking, and cash collection.

Responsibilities:

Manages master patient index integrity (demographics), patient insurance and billing information function (registration and billing) and appointment scheduling and departure functions (check in check out at desk).Performs point of service activities (visit prep, pt. tracking, record tracking, cash collection for screening exams).Performs utilization review functions for Regional radiology imaging site with an emphasis on performing medical necessity review and outpatient pre-certification.Functions as liaison with third-party payers and CCF Staff/ CCHS Staff/ and private practice physicians and surgeons.Functions as a resource for department coworkers and Radiology Customer Service Center coworkers.Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Associate's Degree is preferred.

Certifications:

None required.

Complexity of Work:

Knowledge and skills related to utilization review and outpatient precertification and referral management.Working knowledge of computerized appointment scheduling system, patient billing, insurance processing or related office functions.General knowledge of third-party payer procedures.Knowledge of medical terminology and/or CPT/ICD-CM coding preferred.Ability to perform PC functions.Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.Must possess the ability to multi-task.

Work Experience:

Minimum two years of experience in a medical office setting. Experience should include patient registration, patient billing, insurance processing, appointment scheduling in a radiology setting and experience with information systems.One-year utilization review and pre-certification experience preferred.An Associate's Degree may substitute for some of the experience requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periodsAbility to operate a computer and other office equipmentAbility to communicate and exchange accurate informationIn some locations, ability to move up to 20 pounds
