Image Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Image Specialist will join a talented, experienced, and functionally diverse team which delivers a digital & print strategy in support of Bass Pro Shops and its subsidiaries. This person will work within the Photography Department under the direction of the Digital Asset & Imaging Manager. The Image Specialist is responsible for high-quality image editing of lifestyle, event, and product photography related to apparel, fishing, hunting, camping, boating, and other forms of outdoor recreation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform high quality editing for e-commerce, print, packaging, signage, social media, and other marketing channels.Apply general image edits including cropping, background cleanup, blemish removals, highlights, shadows, exposure adjustments, etc.Apply advanced image edits such as composite editing, focus stacks, dodging, blending modes, texture cleanups, extensions, etc.Edit reflective & metallic surfaces with highlight, shadow, & other adjustments when necessary.Apply color corrections to match physical product samples and/or digital swatches.Apply product color changes using adjustment layers, masks, and digital swatches to accurately reflect SKU variants.Review and apply feedback from art directors in proofing workflows and collaborate to meet quality expectations.Review and maintain editing style guides & color swatch libraries for internal & external partners.Maintain organization of files with proper naming conventions & metadata standards.Process images through automations, actions, presets, or scripts when applicable.Research & stay up to date on industry trends and techniques to help the team advance in skills.All other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required:  Bachelor's degree from accredited institution.Preferred Degree: Photography, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.Experience:  2+ year(s) experience in image editing, post-production, or similar photography editing roles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge.Understanding of color theory, RGB/CMYK workflows, monitor calibration, etc.Experience with clipping paths, masking, camera RAW processing, and advanced editing techniques.Ability to follow style guides and maintain editing consistency across products.Ability to manage high volumes with accuracy & timeliness.Ability to receive and provide feedback professionally & effectively.Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members on a regular basis.Detail oriented with excellent visual & creative judgement.Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems.Familiarity with Workfront or project management & proofing softwares.Knowledge of photography composition, color, lighting, mood, storytelling, etc.

Office hours – regular sitting & computer work required.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices
