Imaging Critical Results Tech

Job Summary

Provide a centralized communication between Physicians and Radiologist, communication to Nursing Units, and improve workflow of Critical Test Reporting System.

 

Responsibilities

• Analyze monitoring activity and generate quarterly and annual reports on a timely basis through the review of quality assurance documentation.

• Assume responsibility for duties correlating with quality control tests, evaluation and record keeping.

• Maintain communication with appropriate personnel to provide information/instruction relating to the quality assurance program.

• Ensure that all TJC quality assurance standards are met.

• Identify and assist in correcting patient care problems by assessing their cause and scope, and implementing actions to resolve them.

• Receive Critical Results for the following types of alerts: at end escalation, replies and declined messages from Ordering Clinicians, and Compliance Goal Milestone.

• Directly contact Ordering Clinicians or licensed care providers that can accept Critical Results notifications.

• Mark Critical Results closed and document the reason for closing the message.

• Serves as the hospital point of contact for the Critical Results Reporting vendor and for managing the Critical Results Reporting Directory as stated in the Data Maintenance Policy.

• Responsible for adding and inactivating Ordering Clinicians, Radiologists, and Coordinators on a just in time basis.

• Provides the transcription system administrator the associated Critical Results Reporting identifiers to be entered into the transcription system.

• Works with the Critical Results Reporting vendor account manager to review reports and address identified workflow needs.

• Train new users on the Critical Results Reporting system.

• Have access to the radiologists and inpatient ordering clinician schedules.

• Maintains relationships and/or working knowledge of compliance management policy and will escalate according to procedures.

• Ability to work with outpatient practices and ordering clinicians to locate on call physicians.

• Review critical results messages, address closures and make changes to profiles for clinicians and clinical teams, including residents.

• Proficiency with the following systems/processes that will be used on a daily basis: PACS system administration tools Radiology Information system Hospital Information system Elecenteronic medical records Telerad systems that include discrepancy recording, reporting, and resolving of results The elecenteronic sharing of images with external facilities The loading of CDs from external facilities Track unsigned reports Assist the radiologists in contacting various clinicians Monitor and resolve all exams that are placed in the "Hard Stop" queues Collect, sort and store hardcopy physician orders Compile monthly QA reports

• Perform Radiology registration duties as needed.

• All other duties as assigned.

Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Education 

• Associate's Degree (Required) Education: Degree in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound Experience: 3 YEARS - Medical Imaging experience: Rad Tech, Nuclear Med, Sonography, Mammography
• Bachelor's Degree

 

Credentials 

• Amer Reg Diag Med Sonographers
• Amer Registry of Rad Techs (Required)
• Nuclear Med Tech, Cert
• Radiologic Technologist, Licen (Required)
• Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hireWithin 30 days of hire
