Position Summary:
The position will provide system administration, configuration, release management, and troubleshooting for Medical Imaging systems, PACS, imaging and DICOM modalities, and archive systems by maintaining and supporting application, workflow, imaging modalities, interfaces, desktop access, and communications of related systems. The engineer will also have a role in supporting and configuring operating systems, virtualization, storage, backup, replication, de‐duplication, as well as related Identity Management technologies such as Active Directory, and other associated systems technologies. The Engineer provides expert level support in both incidents to restore service as soon as possible and problem management in preventing the reoccurrence of incidents. The Engineer provides guidance and training to other technical resources and plays a role in capacity and availability management ensure resources are appropriately monitored and managed to insure maximum availability for service levels.
Education, License & Cert:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Radiologic Technology or related area preferred.
Experience:
Three or more years of progressive experience in large enterprise health care systems including Epic, McKesson Health Information Systems, Medical Imaging, PACS, and/or Health Information Exchange is preferred for this position. Proficiency with storage systems, such as Isilon, strongly preferred. Experience with F5 or equivalent Load Balancers. Background and experience with server hardening and security event prevention technologies such as Anti‐Virus, SYSLOG server monitoring, etc preferred. Education or equivalent experience in ITIL and/or HIPAA preferred for this position. Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts.Essential Functions:
Implementation, support, configuration, and release management, of Medical Imaging systems, PACS, DICOM, virtual servers, operating systems, associated systems management technologies, and archive systems by maintaining and supporting application, workflow, imaging modalities, interfaces, desktop and mobile access, and communications of related systems. Provide expert level technical and operational support for day‐to‐day operations of the infrastructure leveraging a multitude of delivery solutions including but not limited to Active Directory, VMware, SAN and NAS storage. Procure and analyze syslogs, error and support logs. Engaging vendor support as required. Provide expert, tier III level support for incidents to ensure operations systems are returned to service as soon as possible. Prevent the re‐occurrence of incidents by supporting the problem management and knowledge management processes while working directly with departments, vendors and other personnel as appropriate. Follow security procedures, standards, and protocols related to stated technologies. Maintain standard monitoring thresholds for performance, capacity and availability management ensuring the highest level of service performance and availability. Maintain documentation standards and ensure consistency as related to all infrastructure configurations. Support change and release management by having defined release plans, developing and implement changes requests, while having defined back out plans, and after‐action reviews of failed changes. Train, mentor, and develop other engineers and support personnel where needed.Other Duties:
1. Coordinates with the manager of construction and appropriate IS personnel on location of computers and computer equipment in radiology department.
