Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, develop, and integrate imaging solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance, reliability and requirementsGuide the development and evaluation of image generation and processing that satisfies requirements, meets specifications, and achieves clinical imaging tasksCollaborate closely with other hardware and software teams to integrate imaging system outputs into Accuray’s treatment delivery and planning systemsContribute to project management oversight and execution to ensure successful product development outcomesEnsure imaging systems comply with regulatory requirements and technical standardsPrepare technical documentation according to the quality system, including design history files, risk analysis and test reportsDevelop and conduct system integration, verification, and validation tests to ensure imaging systems meet product, quality, and regulatory standardsProvide support to field engineers and clinical users to troubleshoot system performance and image qualityAnalyze imaging and log data to identify root cause of field failures and to support development and improvement of imaging productsCollaborate in a product development environment to extend imaging use cases and introduce new imaging featuresSupport production, service, and sustaining engineering in troubleshooting and correcting anomalies in the imaging chainPresent concise designs, reports, and analyses through written and oral reviewsInfrequent travel (<10%) may be requiredCORE COMPETENCIES:

Preferred or Desired:Graduate degree in a related area – Physics, Medical Physics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Image and Signal processing – or equivalent from a group recognized in the field of imaging, radiation detection, or related technologiesFive years of design and development experience in a technical industry (suitable academic experience will be considered)Experience with product development in a Medical Device or Regulated Product environmentExperience with technical project management or leadershipDirect experience in the development of systems across the entire imaging chain including sources (X-ray generators and tubes preferred), detectors, and image corrections for Radiography and CT reconstructionFamiliarity with requirement, test, and document management toolsRequired:A minimum of two years of related experience and/or training, in a product development, academic, or research environmentExperience with imaging device design and image processing (Medical imaging preferred)Adequate knowledge of modern tools (e.g. Matlab, Python, C++, Monte Carlo) for simulation and developmentExcellent written, verbal, and technical communication skillsMust be able to work in a multi-functional team environmentWORKING CONDITIONS
