Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description We are looking for a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples. You will also be responsible for data entry, verifying and confirming test/client information, and ensuring accurate patient registration and billing. Responsibilities + Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples. + Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services. + Accurately complete all data entry requirements, including patient registration and test order entry. + Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information. + Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test orders. + Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answering phones. + Verify patient demographic information and initials, including obtaining patient signature post-venipuncture. + Maintain appropriate phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs, in a timely manner. + Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques. + Stay current on company communications. Essential Skills + Proficiency in phlebotomy, venipuncture, finger sticks, blood draw, straight needle, butterfly needle, and blood collection. + 6+ months of phlebotomy experience. + Strong customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Phlebotomy experience in travel settings is preferred. + Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients. + Detail-oriented and capable of carrying out tasks with all necessary details. + Flexibility in work schedule. Work Environment The role involves extensive travel between nursing and assisted living homes. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with a start time as early as 6 AM if needed, typically starting around 7 AM. The day ends by 4:30 PM. There is a Saturday rotation every 5th or 6th Saturday, just for pickups, from 8 AM to 3 PM. The position also includes facilities and home draws. Benefits include a car allowance of $250.00 per month, a gas card, and full benefits. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31200.00 - $41600.00/yr. All full-time employee working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for benefits. As a new hire, you are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. Additionally, you may enroll during your annual Open Enrollment period for an April 1st effective date.You may enroll the following eligible dependents in our group benefit plans:• Your natural, adopted or stepchildren up to age 26• Unmarried children of any age if disabled and claimed as a dependent on your federal income taxes• Your legal spouse may enroll for Medical, Dental & Vision if their employer does not offer these coverages or they are not employed.
