Immunology and Respiratory Co-Op
**Description** Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Co-Op to join our Immunology and Respiratory department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As a Co-Op, you will develop and validate cellular in vitro assays and screen antibodies for biological activity. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim´s high regard for our employees. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Conduct cellular based in vitro assays and antibody screening using human primary cells and cell lines. + Work in a fast-paced collaborative research environment. + Perform data analysis and communicate results in meetings. + Formulate scientific hypothesis and interpret results. + Keep accurate notebook and experimentation records **Requirements** + Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing. + Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship. + Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred. + Major or minor in related field of internship + Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university. + Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university. **Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:** + Good understanding of basic cell biology and preferably immunology. + Experience with immunology and molecular biology techniques (preferred skills include tissue culture, imaging, western blotting, flow cytometry, ELISA and RT PCR). + Ability to analyze data generated during experiments. + Experience conducting small research projects. + Highly motivated, ability to work both independently and in a team setting. **Compensation Data** This position offers an hourly rate of $20.00 - $33.00 USD/hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled.
