Implementation Engineer 4

I. Planning

Has responsibility for providing costings for ad hoc tasks and for whole projects, including those for large and extra large airlines.Co-ordinates and plans own activities and those of others within and outside of the team.Plans implementation activities, including whole projects, for all sizes of airline.Proactively reports project progress and highlights at a management level.  Tracks and reports on project costs.Pro-actively takes action to avoid anticipated problems.Prepares Cutover Window Plans (CWPs) for all sizes of airline. Has responsibility for managing the whole cutover event for all sizes of airline.

II. Delivery

Technical Function

Is a technical authority in several key areas of implementation expertise (e.g. interfaces with Revenue Management Systems, Airport systems, Scheduling systems).

Has a proven ability of working in partnership with colleagues and internal or external clients & customers.

Applies knowledge and skills through handling a number of complex problems and/or coordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise.

Writes and/or contributes to significant profile of feasibility studies/analysis documents which have key impact in the organisation.

Presents highly complex ideas, preparing a case to overcome objections and influencing others to their way of thinking.

Identifies technical risks and takes responsibility for mitigating and managing them.

Has strong overall knowledge of all related Amadeus systems and functions (Inventory, Reservation, DCS, Codeshare), and strong knowledge of own area. 
Provides unaccompanied on-site support in customer offices or at airports over the cutover period for all sizes of airline.

Business Knowledge

Anticipates customer needs and works in partnership with the customer to define requirements and feasibility for short and long term solutions.

Looks beyond the immediate problem to wider implications, anticipating and identifying trends.

Has a breadth of knowledge in more than one application area and a comprehensive knowledge of at least one area.

Has a broad understanding of the airline,  I.T. and third party industries.  Applies this knowledge in decision making,  in making judgements on priorities and risk mitigation.    

Procedural Knowledge

Improves long-term efficiency of the Division by pro-actively challenging and improving existing processes and procedures.  Champions major  improvements through to completion and acceptance.

Is a lead contributor individually and as a team member, may provide direction for others.

Works with minimal supervision often in a complex environment, taking initiative and responsibility to avoid anticipated problems, and resolve issues.

Initiates and influences change and sees it through.

Builds networks internally and externally.

Conversant with technology and industry trends.

III. Tutoring - Support

Shares expertise with colleagues, including people in other areas.Is consistently sought out by others for their expertise in multiple business functions, technical areas or internal standards or processes.

Acts as a facilitator and mentor, moving the team or whole Division forward
