Import Export Specialist

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to:

Ensure the smooth coordination of the product (raw material and packaging) flow from exporting country till the moment product enters the SYT warehouse/third party production siteCoordinate and collaborate across boundaries to lift any road-blockers both potential and actualBe a primary point of contact for potential problem resolution, resource allocation for problem resolution and leading the progressEnsure the work with 3rd parties involved (customs brokers, official authority bodies, Logistic partners, consultancy firms etc.) are based on standard operating procedures and daily management systems

Accountabilities

Responsible for Inward Processing Relief (IPR) compliance (applications and closure reports)Responsible for application to relevant authority bodies for production/formulation permits, import permits and PIC notificationsCoordinate and control of the documentation flow of the importation process, involving actively wherever required to ensure flawless  process of product inboundCollaborate with Tolling Asset Planning side for open orders and keep track of orders and inform related parties (customs broker, document sending parties, order manager etc.)Be ensure that all inbound deliveries are scheduled upon the production and performed on time subsequently and take all the necessary actions to minimize the lead times.Involve actively with cross-boundary counterparts from exporting side to clear unnecessary road-blockers if any and apply for necessary resource allocation if required to solve potential and actual issuesBe on top of the issues to minimize any lead time loss and also pro-actively engage with necessary parties (customs brokers, sending parties, state authorities) to prevent future repetitions of the problemManage  and schedule all necessary import payments and follow up until concluded with related parties (Banks, finance etc.)Control the payments of the taxes, fees and duties to necessary parties on timeControl and follow up all payments of related 3rd parties (customs broker, freight forwarders, and any consultancy firm of which they service acquired.Maintain the necessary service level for both internal and external counterparts (warehouses, customs brokers etc) to ensure communication flow is efficient on upcoming and planning importationsKeep necessary parties updated and engage with corporate affairs in advance on potential and actual legislation updates to be ready to react pro-actively or re-actively in an effective way to minimize  the business impactKeeping track of the records to ensure KPIs are matched and the performance progress in on trackMaintain proper follow up on pre-import and quarantine processes as well as with GMO labs via customs broker or directly where necessaryEnsure the system side of all the related transactions are performed on time

Knowledge of Logistics, customs and physical distribution (import-export) processesUnderstanding, and knowledge of, TR agricultural market, distribution system, customers and productsKnowledge in SAPComputer literacyFluent in English and Turkish   (verbal as well as in writing)Experience in logistics

Critical experience

+3 years’ experience in physical distribution in chemicals/agrochemicals industryIPR and customs experienceDemonstrated experience of ERP/MRP systemsSAP and Microsoft office skillsProven ability to deliver promises under tight time lines
