Improvement Engineer, Facilities Management
Purpose of the role
Initiates and monitors continuous improvement within the CoE. Provides management support to the CoE Lead from business perspective. Works in close co-operation with LSS Engineers and, CoE specialists.
Main responsibilities
Identify, analyze, and prioritize non-technical business-related processes and problems within the CoE in cooperation with CoE LSS and/or subject matter experts and CoE staff. Translate business issues into an agenda for improvements.Formulate proposals/business cases for non-technical improvement projects, including deliverables, financial analysis, and planning for development and implementation of proposed improvements. This should be done in consultation with the required CoE and/ or IPT. Provide strong guidance to improvement activities using specific tools and calculations.Initiate, steer, and/or participate in projects within a defined project framework to achieve pre-defined project objectives.Monitor the realization of proposed improvements, identify bottlenecks, prioritize, and take corrective actions when necessary. Ensure compliance with procedures and guidelines. Contribute to the implementation of improvements.Analyze actual monthly FM results and costs, compare to plan, and identify variances. Ensure and update Key Performance Indicators.Initiate, develop, and ensure the implementation of knowledge regarding your field of expertise. Work in cooperation with other Improvement Engineers and CoE members to maintain the required level of expertise and quality.Monitor, initiate, and ensure the administration and implementation of data (e.g., performance indicators) and documentation (e.g., SOPs) regarding your field of expertise. Ensure compliance with administration procedures and guidelines. Maintain an understanding of and insight into the historical and status of data and documentation.Ensure the implementation of our corporate policy on safety, health, and environment. Establish environments that enable workers to comply with all relevant EHS legislation and company requirements.Identify, analyze, and prioritize opportunities for business improvement within the COE that are not technical in nature.Identify, lead, facilitate, and implement improvement projects using lean tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma and Kaizen. Use problem-solving methods (e.g., 8-step process) to resolve bottlenecks and optimize workflows. Conduct Root Cause Investigations and suggest improvements. Use SAP, Power BI, and Excel to analyze performance data and inform decisions. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize business data, identify trends, and monitor finance, Capex and hard and soft services KPIs in real-time. Track project progress to ensure alignment with goals and compliance with procedures. Promote lean practices and provide guidance to colleagues for continuous skill development. Support change management to facilitate smooth improvement transitions. Facilitate COE meetings for staff and departments.Your profile
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering, Technical Business Administration, or a related field.3-5 years of business and project management experience in an improvement manufacturing environment.Industry Background: Experience in a regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, food, automotive, or a comparable sector.Proficient in data analysis and processing across various systems (e.g., SAP, Excel) and fields.Certifications: Certified Black Belt preferred.Strong prioritization, people engagement, and change management skills.Emphasis on safety, quality/compliance, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.Team player, flexible, and willing to go the extra mile.Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.What we offer
