In-House Counsel
Description We are seeking an Attorney to join our international Corporate client's team in Scranton, Pennsylvania, as In-House Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice, manage and oversee legal disputes, serve as the primary advisor on intellectual property matters, and handle business and corporate transactions. This role is within the industrial machinery manufacturing industry and offers an exciting opportunity. This job is a hybrid role 2-3 days a week in the office, so ability to commute to the office in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is required. Also some national and international travel is required. Responsibilities: • Provide strategic and tactical legal advice to address a wide range of legal matters related to commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance • Oversee legal disputes, including coordinating with external counsel to handle ongoing litigation effectively • Serve as the primary legal advisor on intellectual property matters, ensuring the company’s intellectual property portfolio is well-maintained and leveraged effectively • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring that all contracts align with the company’s legal requirements, business objectives, and risk management protocols • Manage and advise on litigation strategy, resolving issues efficiently • Ensure the company adheres to industry-specific regulations while minimizing legal risks. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Lawyer, ideally in a law firm and/or corporate setting • Applicant must possess a Juris Doctor or JD/LLM Degree from an ABA accredited Law School • Must be a Licensed Attorney ideally in Pennsylvania, other jurisdictions considered • Experience in corporate legal matters is required, including as corporate counsel, assistant general counsel, or corporate legal counsel. • Proficiency in corporate governance principles and procedures is essential • Experience in corporate and commercial law is a must • Must be proficient in contract law and employment law • Knowledge of antitrust and trade regulation is necessary • Experience in business and commercial law is required • Expertise in handling corporate transactions is necessary • Experience in corporate services is essential • Must have experience in litigation management • Familiarity with industrial machinery legal issues is a plus • Knowledge of international law is required • Must have experience in regulatory compliance Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
