Job Summary:
In-House Service/Repair Technician: Performs in-house servicing and repair of Teledyne FLIR Detection instruments at established company service center located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. Performs maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products. Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues. May communicate with field-based technicians, for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair, but generally without direct client contact.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Be knowledgeable and proficient on Teledyne FLIR radiation and explosive detection products.Ability to disassemble, install, repair, reassemble operate and maintain electronic systems and related test equipment.Ability to read schematics, wire lists and board layouts.Troubleshoot and repair Teledyne FLIR Detection instruments.Document appropriate questions, techniques, and solutions.Participate in ongoing internal training programs.Able to communicate effectively & professionally with all levels and areas of the business team members.Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Job Qualifications:
Technical associates degree and/or equivalent work experience relative to technical service work, preferred.Experience with systems integration and assembly.Proficient with surface mount soldering.Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail.Good computer skills in Microsoft package for windows environment.Continuous learning and adaptability are a must.Team oriented.Other Desired Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of experience in electronics, electronic maintenance, nuclear electronics, or equipment in closely related areas is desired.Circuit analysis and troubleshooting (2 years associates degree in electronics)Soldering and Assembly skillsElectronic testing equipment, digital volt meters, oscilloscope, will be working with robots and automation.SAP experience a plus.Problem solving and communication skills.Safety awareness working with radiation sources.Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
