In-Shop Service Technician

**DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a Diesel In-shop technician to join our team in Dartmouth.
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:**
+ Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision.
+ Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
+ Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.
+ Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
+ Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
+ Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
+ Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisors.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:**
+ Truck and transport technician certification **or** currently enrolled in a apprenticeship in the Truck and transport program
+ Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
**Experience**
+ Basic level of workshop experience required.
+ General engine level experience is an asset.
**About the role:**
+ This position is in a union environment. Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday
+ You will be working on On and OFF highway Engines (from 6.7 liters to 15 liters) on the following :
+ Tandem tractors
+ Firetrucks
+ Transit buses
+ Crane units
+ Refuse units
+ RV’s etc.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ A current valid license is required for this role
+ A copy of your red seal certification or trade’s diploma is required for this position.
+ This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
+ This role will can be subjected to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
