CIMMYT seeks a hands-on, service-oriented and detail-oriented professional with relevant experience in Project Management or Project Coordination, to oversee, coordinate, and ensure compliance in the Knowledge Management and Information Technologies areas to all CIMMYT staff based in Asia.
This position is key to ensure continued operations in Asia’s offices by coordinating activities with the HQ office, and also overseeing that Knowledge Management and Information Technologies products and services are properly delivered in the region, according to rules and regulations. This also includes interacting with end users to monitor the quality of the products and services provided, and to ensure that end users are in compliance with all requirements related to the Knowledge Management and Information Technologies Department.
This position will support the Regional Director and Management by providing strategic leadership, aligning country/ regional activities with institutional goals, facilitating coordination between HQ and country/regional offices, and making localized decisions to address specific challenges and opportunities. Oversight, monitoring/ assurance and compliance are essential aspects of this function.
Functional direction will be provided by KMIT HQ through regular communication, including clearly defined objectives, periodic progress reviews, and guidance on priorities and best practices. This will be delivered via scheduled meetings, feedback sessions, and shared resources to ensure alignment with organizational standards.
Collaborate closely with other Regional Managers and focal points of the Operations Chapter to ensure the seamless adaptation and implementation of policies, procedures, and new system architecture (e.g., ERP and contract systems), focusing on process improvement while maintaining business continuity during the transition.
This position will report directly to the Regional Director and work closely with various functional leads at HQ to ensure alignment and consistent support to country offices. Regular updates and ad-hoc reports will be expected to inform regional leadership of key developments, challenges, and progress. This KMIT staff will work in a network of experts to guarantee high quality service provision across CIMMYT’s Regional Offices and Stations.

Specific Duties:
Monitor the daily progress of projects. Provide detailed updates to project managers or other stakeholders. Ensure team members have the supplies and resources they need to complete their assigned tasks on time and within their budget limits. Organize reports, invoices, contracts, and other financial files for easy access. Plan meetings and organizing project logistics. Contribute to the strategy and planning of the Department. Oversight and monitor IT and Knowledge Management operations, quality assurance, data security, technical support, etc. Liaise with country offices on project management, resource allocation, etc., under the technical guidance of Knowledge Management and Information Technology management representatives, who are also in charge of directly managing the KMIT staff in the country offices, according to the agreements with the Regional Knowledge Management and Information Technology Manager. Contribute to policy implementation, regulatory adherence, audit and review, etc. Provide training and support to country office staff and key users (e.g., new systems, policies, and procedures). Report to HQ on IT and Knowledge Management performance, issues, country/ regional initiatives, etc.
