This role requires close collaboration with business and operations teams to meticulously plan the flow of inbound freight into Fulfillment Centers (FCs), facilitating smooth operations during both peak and off-peak periods.
The Inbound Placement Manager plays a critical role in enhancing the vendor and seller experience by coordinating efficient inbound processes, managing inventory placement strategies, and addressing any logistical challenges that may arise. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen ability to balance operational efficiency with high service standards.
This role involves driving critical decisions with cross-functional teams and senior leadership and demands strong program management skills along with the ability to drive data-driven discussions.
The candidate is expected to have exceptional analytical, planning, and written/verbal communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
- Establish processes to ensure the correct placement of inventory at the right Fulfillment Centers (FCs) at the right time, optimizing stock availability, cost efficiency and distribution.
- Develop and refine processes to improve inbound supply chain planning, aiming to minimize costs and enhance customer/seller experience through effective inventory management.
- Serve as the main point of contact for sellers and vendors, ensuring a smooth and positive experience within the supply chain organization.
- Identify and utilize tools and automation to streamline existing processes, making them more scalable and efficient.
- Integrate best practices from other regions and companies to reduce supply chain losses and improve efficiency.
- Use strong problem-solving and communication skills to influence and align business, operations, and technical teams.
- Lead program management efforts, coordinating across teams and senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment and efficient decision-making.
