We are currently seeking an Inbound Transportation Planner who will be responsible for optimizing and managing inbound shipments from automotive part suppliers to Lucid’s Advanced Manufacturing Plant (AMP). Utilizing a Transportation Management System (TMS), this role involves planning and coordinating the movement of essential production parts to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
The successful candidate will have spent two (3) or more years in automotive transportation or freight forwarding working with material planning, carriers, and 3PL partners. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possess great communication skills. You will play an important role on the Inbound Logistics Department responsible for cross functional communication and collaboration with internal customers, 3rd Party logistics and transportation providers.
You will:
· Develop and implement logistics plans to optimize transportation routes and schedules for inbound automotive parts.
· Leverage the Transportation Management System (TMS) to build, monitor, analyze and manage inbound shipments.
· Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and production planning to ensure seamless logistics operations and address any transportation related issues.
· Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings through route optimization, carrier rates, and process improvements.
· Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation efficiency, delivery accuracy, and overall logistics performance, providing regular reports to management.
· Ensure adherence to customs compliance, dangerous goods and internal policies regarding transportation and logistics operations.
· Proactively identify potential disruptions in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks
· Maintain accurate transportation records and documentation to support compliance and operational reporting.
· Participate in initiatives aimed at improving logistics process, implementing best practices, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.
You Bring:
· Education: A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field (e.g., APICS, CLTD) are a plus.
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in material planning or transportation management, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
· Technical skills: Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics software (SAP); strong excel skills for data analysis.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
· Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and accuracy in managing logistics operations and documentation.
· One Team: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
