Job Title: INCOMING MATERIAL INSPECTOR
Level: L6
Report To: Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Brewery (Seychelles)

Seychelles Breweries has been operating in Seychelles since 1972 and is part of Diageo International.

It enjoys a market leader position as a premium drinks company but is facing an increasingly tough and challenging business environment.
SBL’s operational activities include Manufacturing (Brewing & Packaging) of Beers, RTDs and Soft drinks, Marketing, Sales and Distribution (both SBL products and Diageo Spirits).
The Operations department’s role is critical to ensure consistent supply of our products at the right time, volume, quality, and cost whilst keeping everybody on site safe. We strive to achieve exemplary customer service, maximize the value of our assets, protect the reputation of our business and brands, enable innovation and ensure our people grow and develop.
Purpose of the Role:
Responsible to carry out Quality checks on all incoming materials and components used for productions and maintaining relevant records.Responsible for the timely release of raw materials and components on SAP.
Responsible for the review and development of procedures for incoming inspections.
Responsible to Work closely with the site Material Controller to ensure all materials and components received on site undergo Quality Inspection and release.
Responsible to work closely with the Material Scheduler to ensure Certificates of analysis are received for all materials and components on site.
Responsible to work closely with the Diversey Representative to ensure all chemicals undergo incoming inspection when received on site.
Responsible to develop procedures for the incoming inspection of materials and components.
Responsible to manage any non-conforming products on site, and ensuring all required documentation are completed.
Responsible to implement the Global Distribution Quality Standard
Apply manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques (DMAIC project, RCPS)
Provide comprehensive technical support to the quality, brewing and packaging teams
Key Accountabilities
Be the site custodian of Incoming Material Inspection. Performing inspections of materials and components to ensure conformance to specifications.
Ensuring Standards and procedures for material inspections are up to date with Diageo and Coca Cola requirements, by monitoring EQMS and KORE respectively.
Developing procedures for inspection of materials and components
Ensuring any non-conforming materials and components received on site are communicated to the Quality Manager and Material Scheduler, on a timely manner and supplier non-conformances are raised.
Ensuring all non-conforming products are clearly identified and required analysis are done on a timely manner to facilitate fast decision making.
Carrying out pack dress evaluations in the Full Good Store on a weekly basis (Distribution Quality Defect).
Validating and verifying non-conforming products at distributor’s warehouse.
Carrying out monthly Quality Audit at the distributor’s warehouse
Organizing and carrying out bi-monthly Quality Trade visits
Leading improvement projects across site using DMAIC methodology to drive reduction in non-conforming products.
Qualifications
Degree qualified in science or equivalent. Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years' experience in an analytical or food science laboratory in an ISO 9001 and or ISO17025 environment
Good practical knowledge of operation, and maintenance of analytical techniques.
Experienced of Sensory evaluations.
Relevant IBD qualification (General Certificate in brewing/Beer Packaging or Diploma in Brewing) or willing to complete
Experience Essential:
Very good knowledge of analytical methods, techniques and standards
Very good knowledge of Incoming material Inspection process
Very good knowledge of the brewing and packaging processes
Proactive structured problem-solving skills
Good Computer literacy skill- able to use excel, Microsoft office and Power point effectively to compile data and trend KPI, prepare reports and presentations, respectively
