Job Overview
As an Incoming Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for meticulously inspecting, checking, and testing incoming products, parts, and components used in the production of hard rock mining consumables, equipment, and parts. Your role involves not only ensuring the quality of incoming materials but also maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment for all employees.
Key Job Responsibilities
+ Read and interpret blueprints and instructions to understand the quality expectations for incoming products and supplies.
+ Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials and products using standard physical, mechanical, and electrical measurements.
+ Utilize various measurement equipment such as CMM, micrometers, thread gauges, and dial bore gauges, ensuring their proper maintenance and calibration.
+ Accurately complete inspection and testing records and gather necessary data to approve products for use in manufacturing processes.
+ Communicate inspection results to relevant team members and develop inspection check sheets as necessary.
+ Maintain controlled document files and test records accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Evaluate issues and recommend corrective actions to supervisors, collaborating with Supply Chain and Quality Assurance to provide vendor feedback.
+ Participate in the construction, revision, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
Qualifications/Requirements
+ Completion of a College Diploma in Machining, Welder/Fitter, or equivalent field experience.
+ Minimum of 2 years of practical work experience in mechanical inspection or a related industry.
+ Familiarity with calibration tools within a production setting.
+ Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for efficient manufacturing and distribution.
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001 Requirements and Standards.
+ Proficiency in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications in machining and fabrication.
+ Practical application of engineering science and technology principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for design and production.
+ Knowledge of magnetic particle inspection and non-destructive testing techniques (an asset).
+ High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Strong documentation and organizational capabilities.
+ Proficiency in computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
+ Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics effectively.
+ Effective communication skills for collaborating with a diverse team.
+ Strong problem-solving abilities to evaluate issues and suggest corrective actions.
+ Willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve.
