Roles & Responsibilities
Minimum 6 Years to Experience in the quality assurance/testing field in a structured and measured process.
At least 1 year experience in WD.
Functional/Domain knowledge:
Is a knowledge leader for one or more areas in the Workday.
Benefits domains. Provides critical inputs to the testing team as well as a trainer and/or owner of knowledge/training repository (ies)
Assist Test Lead in preparation of test plan
Assists the Test Lead and uses in-depth knowledge of testing to create and document the
Experience as a QA Test Analyst in the Workday platform; specifically with HCM, & Integrations.
Should have experience in managing & mentoring small team of 1 – 2 members.
Demonstrated expert knowledge of Testing life cycle, methodologies, tools like JIRA, Zephyr.
Superior organizational and time management skills.
Project Test Plan, utilizing all of the agreed upon processes for effective execution of Test Plans.
Managing Risk
⎯ Analyzes high risk areas of the assigned project section and creating the risk analysis document to ensure appropriate priority is placed on the conditions being tested.
⎯ As the assigned project section progresses, he or she performs overall issue analysis to identify high-risk areas for the project and adjust testing priorities accordingly.
⎯ Identifies how other facets of the project may impact quality, and escalate identified risks
Creating and Executing Test Cases
⎯ Create, execute, and store test cases in the Test script repository based on the Use Cases, or high level requirement scenarios, the Project Test Plan and the Supplemental Requirements., as per the test plan and within the schedule.
⎯ Verify actual versus expected test results.
⎯ Review unexpected results for origination of the issue (test data, requirements, coding).
⎯ Submit clear, concise and complete issues to the appropriate parties using the issue management tool.
⎯ Complete the test plan execution by retesting issues until each one is resolved.
⎯ Ensure that all requirements and supporting specifications are tested through the Test Cases with duplicates, invalid, and out-of-scope scenarios removed.
Preparing Test Data
⎯ Prepare the test data (person and/or provision) to be used in the test plan and in the unit test by Developers.
⎯ Test data is prepared by utilizing available data within the project team and making/creating necessary modifications for the new project, using Components when possible.
Creating/Reviewing Requirements Documentation:
⎯ Responsible, as a deliverable at release time, for the necessary knowledge management documentation to aid base product teams in understanding what needs to be tested, or how the tool should be utilized for the assigned project module.
⎯ Works along with the TDC Senior Test Engineer and TDC Test Engineer to write the documentation and review the resulting material for accuracy, completeness and usability.
Participating in Root Cause Analysis:
⎯ Participate in the test execution walk through with the team and the Test Lead, documenting any trends emerging from the Test Execution Review.
Documenting Test Results
⎯ Log the test results as well as summarize which tests failed and succeeded.
Issue Management
⎯ Analyze trends with resolved and/or pending project to determine the quality of artifacts and projects.
⎯ Ensuring Availability and Usability of Team Documentation
⎯ Create and/or provide input on the necessary knowledge management documentation to aid Testing teams in understanding what needs to be tested, or how the tool should be utilized.Coaching:
Coach Test Engineers and Senior Test Engineers on a variety of skills- domain and testing. This includes:
⎯ Review of test scripts, review records and any other documents related to the Testing project; and mentor associates on creating and managing these documents.
⎯ How to use the tools, how to set up test environment appropriately, and how to document issues.
