An **Independent Contractor** on our **Preparedness Cadre** will be responsible for providing support to state and local government agencies Emergency Preparedness missions. This team of on-call professionals will lead, coordinate, or provide subject matter expertise to complex projects for federal, state, local, tribal, and or private sector clients related to emergency management and homeland security, including assessments, plans, training, exercises, and evaluations. Candidates only seeking immediate and/or long-term employment should consider Hagerty's other relevant job postings. **Responsibilities for Independent Contractor - Preparedness Cadre include:** + Support resource planning, and monitoring compliance with project controls and requirements, including ensuring that work products are developed for Hagerty clients in accordance with the firm-s professional standards. + Contribute to the development of tools, approaches, and resources to help build and share expertise across projects, geographies, and focus areas. + Support the development of high-quality, professional deliverables based on leading practices in emergency management, homeland security, and public safety. + Collaborating with a diverse spectrum of homeland security professionals and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality, innovative, and forward-thinking deliverables. **Qualifications for Independent Contractor - Preparedness Cadre Include:** + Seven or more years of experience in emergency management, economic development, resilience, public health, or a related field. + Bachelor-s degree or higher + A strong understanding of emergency management processes at the local, state, and federal levels, including knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Incident Command System (ICS), the National Response Framework (NRF), National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF), and other federal preparedness guidance documents and policies. + Experience implementing incident objectives with a diverse set of agencies and stakeholders. + An active EIN, registered business name, etc. to be considered an independent contractor. **Compensation for Independent Contractor - Preparedness Cadre Includes:** + $35-$75 per hour Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
