Your Role:

As an Industrial Construction Safety Manager, you will ensure McGough's Environmental, Health & Safety, and risk control policies are followed across various industrial job sites, including greenfield ag processing plants and active operating facilities. Key sectors include ag industrial, biofuels, ethanol, food & beverage, central utility plants, water, and wastewater plants.

 Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and enforce safety on multiple construction projects.

- Identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions.

- Partner with Project Executives, Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen.

- Mentor and coach onsite crews.

- Build relationships to ensure safety compliance with all stakeholders.

 Qualifications:

- Required:

  - Four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field.

  - Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.

  - Experience in industrial agriculture and power & infrastructure safety.

  - OSHA 500 training.

  - Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 standards.

  - First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED training.

  - Ability to identify and lead corrective actions in an industrial environment.

  - Strong leadership, communication, and computer skills.

-Preferred:

  - ASP or CSP certification within 2 years of appointment.

Office and Travel:

- Office: Various job sites and/or corporate/regional office.

- Travel: Ability to relocate full-time on-site for project durations ranging from 6 months to 24 months or more.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

McGough Safety Team:

- Perform all functions in alignment with McGough’s culture, vision, ethics, and code of conduct.

- Build positive relationships with Safety Team, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.

- Contribute to the overall project safety program.

- Manage time and resources effectively to provide safety leadership.

- Continue growing your professional knowledge and skills.

Safety Oversight:

- Enforce safety programs and implement immediate corrective actions.

- Ensure compliance with safety, accident, and fire programs.

- Stop unsafe practices and recommend disciplinary actions.

- Hold pre-construction safety meetings with staff and subcontractors.

- Provide technical and administrative direction to on-site safety personnel.

- Participate in OSHA inspections and follow-ups.

- Investigate accidents and incidents.

Jobsite Safety & Training:

- Conduct weekly job site walk-throughs and audits.

- Lead bi-weekly site-wide safety meetings.

- Train employees using company-provided safety programs.

- Recognize and correct hazardous situations.

- Thoroughly investigate all incidents and accidents.

Tracking & Administrative:

- Evaluate and recommend training needs.

- Perform job site inspections and prepare reports.

- Review safety documentation for accuracy.

- Track and identify safety trends.

- Maintain job site-specific safety administrative files and records.

Additional:

- Pass customer-required background and security screenings.

- Hold a valid driver’s license with a clear record.

- Assume additional assignments as needed.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit for extended periods at a computer terminal.

- Communicate effectively in a typical office environment.

- Occasional standing, bending, walking, and lifting.

- Visit construction job sites with exposure to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather, and extreme temperatures.

- Ability to move around project sites, including climbing ladders and walking long distances.
