Industrial Controls Engineer

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Enterprise Technology plays a critical part in shaping the future of mobility. If you’re looking for the chance to leverage advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape, enhance the customer experience and improve people’s lives, this is the opportunity for you. Join us and challenge your IT expertise and analytical skills to help create vehicles that are as smart as you are.

In this position...
As part of our IPI (In-Plant implementation team) team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles. You will work with vendor controls engineers to install, test, and debug industrial controls logic in support of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

Although most of our MES PLC code modules are standardized, you may need to create custom PLC code for plant unique situations or modify standard templates to address issues identified by others. Duties will include maintenance of PLC code for Allen-Bradley ControlLogix using Rockwell RS5000 software and creation and modification of Human Machine Interface (HMI) code for Allen-Bradley PanelView HMIs. Assignments may be in support of programs at any of the Ford vehicle assembly plants in North and South America.    As such, occasional travel will be required. This position is based in Southeast Michigan.
