As part of our IPI (In-Plant implementation team) team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles. You will work with vendor controls engineers to install, test, and debug industrial controls logic in support of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Although most of our MES PLC code modules are standardized, you may need to create custom PLC code for plant unique situations or modify standard templates to address issues identified by others. Duties will include maintenance of PLC code for Allen-Bradley ControlLogix using Rockwell RS5000 software and creation and modification of Human Machine Interface (HMI) code for Allen-Bradley PanelView HMIs. Assignments may be in support of programs at any of the Ford vehicle assembly plants in North and South America. As such, occasional travel will be required. This position is based in Southeast Michigan.
• High School Diploma or Associate Degree Preferred.
• Experience in Industrial Controls preferred
• Must be physically able to work on the assembly plant floor (body, paint, and final stages) which include walking extended distance and climbing stairs or ladders to overhead mezzanines where equipment may be located.
• You must be legally authorized to travel in U.S.,Canada and Mexico.
• Aptitude to learn and apply new technologies.
• Ability and willingness to work as an effective member on a team.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated high-level communication and leadership skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application suite.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD drawing package.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
• Experiences in Ethernet, Device Net, Profinet, Profibus, networking, Ethernet/IP are a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build close working relationships.

• Provide direction for controls equipment locations for safety, maintenance and
production consideration. Verify all Ford safety standards are followed.
• Analyze customer requirements and map to our MES systems design.

• Own the integration of our MES with Ford Vehicle Operations tooling and
process control systems.

• To support New Model Program, build events, you may be required to work
during nonstandard hours, such as evenings, weekends, or holidays.
