Industrial Controls Engineer (Custom PLC Programming)

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Controls PLC Programmer to join our team. This position requires on-site work in an industrial/manufacturing environment, where you will be responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining custom PLC systems from scratch. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and at least 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial controls and PLC programming.
Key Responsibilities:Design and develop industrial control systems and PLC programs from scratch, focusing on custom solutions tailored to specific manufacturing needs.Maintain and edit existing PLC programs as needed to optimize performance and meet evolving requirements.Design power distribution systems and implement drive and motor applications to ensure efficient operation of machinery.Utilize modular machine design principles and concepts, with proficiency in ladder logic programming as a bonus.Hands-on experience with industrial automation platforms such as B&R, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, GE, and/or Siemens.Ensure compliance with UL/CE or CSA standards throughout the design and implementation process.Occasional travel required, approximately 10% of the time, including occasional out-of-state trips lasting 1-2 days.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing industrial controls and programming PLCs from scratch.Experience with Programming on: CompantLogix PLC, Panelview 1000 HMIs, and Siemens S7-300 and S7-1200 PLCProficiency in designing power distribution systems and implementing drive and motor applications.Strong understanding of modular machine design principles and ladder logic programming.Hands-on experience with industrial automation platforms such as B&R, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, GE, and/or Siemens.Familiarity with UL/CE or CSA compliance standards.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
