Industrial Design Co-Op/Intern

The Industrial Design Co-Op student participates in projects to support graphic and industrial design needs of project teams throughout the Generac organization working on product development, innovation and marketing. Design outputs could include computer or hand drawn renderings, illustrations, physical prototypes, 3-D models and other forms of samples. This professional will gain valuable experience producing high quality deliverables under project timelines and budgets with multiple projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in all phases of product development, translating innovation to concepts and working with project teams to bring concepts to production.Assist in the creation and implementation of VBL documentation.Execute against VBL and brand strategies at a product and category level while constantly ensuring brand and product guidelines are being met.

Minimal Qualifications:

Current enrollment in a degree-seeking Bachelor's level program in Industrial Design or related field


Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite and sketchbook Pro to develop various concepts that clearly and effectively communicate design intent.Excellent skills in communication and creativity. Problem solving skills are important as work is both team based and individual, depending on the specific project.Must work a minimum of 35 hours per week for the full term.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
