In this position…

The Human-Centered Design (HCD) team improves people’s lives through empathetic and innovative vehicle design solutions. We are looking for a Lead Industrial Designer to bring these product experiences to life.

As Lead Industrial Designer, you'll guide project teams in creating physical product solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass the creative process from initial concept sketches and low-fidelity prototypes to more refined models and final requirements. You'll lead design workshops, manage asset creation, and collaborate closely with other design partners and teams to iterate designs based on user feedback. Success in this role requires a deep curiosity about people, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations

What you'll do…

Concept & Design: Develop novel and desirable vehicle experience solutions to address meaningful customer needs, collaborating with experience designers and other stakeholders. Lead the visualization of these solutions through sketches, high-fidelity renderings, animations, and physical and 3D models. Prototyping & Iteration: Build and test prototypes (primarily physical) to learn and refine designs. Iterate designs based on user feedback to ensure they meet expectations and deliver successful outcomes. Strategy & Feasibility: Collaborate with partner teams to ensure manufacturable solutions that align with the company’s brand strategy. Communication & Advocacy: Clearly and persuasively communicate design recommendations to leadership and stakeholders, conveying the "why" behind design choices and generating excitement for the product.

What you'll have…

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or related field Senior-level designer with 7+ years of relevant work experience in the design, development and launch of B2B or B2C physical products within a consumer product industry, transportation sector, design consultancy, or similar field 2+ years leading projects through human-centered design methodologies Must have exceptional sketching, visualization, 3D modeling, and physical prototyping skills Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and at least one 3D modeling software application (e.g. Alias AutoStudio, VRED, Rhino, Maya or Blender)

Portfolio required to be considered. Evaluation of physical prototyping, sketching and storytelling skills.
