Description Highly skilled employees in the mechanical maintenance craft who applies a broad level of process and mechanical/maintenance knowledge to maximize and, where possible, improve the efficiency of the overall production process. Among these workers are machinists, heavy machinery mechanics, skilled automotive technicians, certified welders, pump rebuild mechanics and specialized maintenance mechanic personnel. These employees may mentor or train other mechanical workers. Employee will work autonomously under minimal supervision where the primary objective is safe production.Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activitiesComplete Work Orders, order parts, and other maintenance documentationAbility to repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, troubleshoot and preventative maintenance of process equipment i.e. pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, filters, etc. Capable of performing equipment lubricationCompetent in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, bearings, basic metallurgy (stress cracking, metal compatibility), conveyor systems, plumbing, alignment, machine shop, blueprints, schematics, and mobile equipment. Qualified to operate small and large cranes and knowledgeable of safe rigging practicesFollows and understands Safety rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, uses plant and equipment correctly at all timesAdditional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business needQualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.Proficiency in welding/cutting (MIG, TIG, ARC, Oxy-acetylene)Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, plumbing, machine shop, blue prints, schematics, fabrication, and part lists and repair.Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair.Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

High School Diploma or GEDPrevious experience operating larger than 20 ton mobile craneCertified in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc)Previous experience in chemical manufacturing and/or processing industry.Ability to demonstrate proficiency in repair and diagnosing pumping systems including but not limited to:Positive Displacement PumpsCentrifugal PumpsPneumatic PumpsVertical PumpsPrevious hands-on experience maintaining, repairing and replacing screw conveyors, bucket elevators and heavy rotating equipment.

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $28.50 - $38.50 hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
