Industrial Electrician
**Job Title: Industrial Electrician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, inspecting, and repairing various types of industrial equipment. This includes working with electrical and mechanical components such as motors, pumps, lighting systems, fixtures, industrial I/O devices, PLC control devices, electronic control devices, transformers, and distribution equipment. You will be expected to report and complete work orders and manage spare parts using a CMMS. Additionally, you will be accountable for all food safety procedures and provide support to production by troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical breakdowns. Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration activities, as well as performing and assisting with other maintenance duties, will also be part of your role. **Work Environment** This role is based in a food manufacturing facility with high sanitation standards to meet customer needs and food safety requirements. You will work in coolers and freezers within a 24/7 operation that runs three full shifts daily. Quality is the top priority. The night shift team is a positive and hardworking group, consisting of both long-tenured and newer employees. The team size on the graveyard shift includes 4 maintenance workers and a total of 60 employees working at night. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and work from Sunday to Thursday, 9pm-5am. Overtime opportunities are available, although not expected every time. **Responsibilities** + Troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair various types of industrial equipment. + Work with electrical and mechanical components such as motors, pumps, lighting systems, fixtures, industrial I/O devices, PLC control devices, electronic control devices, transformers, and distribution equipment. + Report and complete work orders and manage spare parts using a CMMS. + Ensure compliance with all food safety procedures (SQF, GMPs, HACCP). + Support production by troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical breakdowns. + Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration activities. + Perform and assist with other maintenance duties as required. + Use power and hand tools and equipment efficiently and maintain them in a clean operating condition. + Investigate equipment/machine failures and faulty operations, and perform necessary repairs. + Complete reports and logs. + Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. **Essential Skills** + 3-5 years of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing facility. + Experience with both preventative and reactive maintenance. + Proficiency in English communication (verbal, written, reading). + Good computer skills. + Experience in a similar-sized and similar-paced facility. + Experience with industrial controls such as Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens PLC, VFD Drives, HMI, and basic industrial networking. + Ability to work night shifts long term. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Red Seal ticket or equivalent experience (should not need to return to school within the next 2 years). + Strong preference for candidates with experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing. + Additional preference for candidates with bakery manufacturing experience. + Knowledge or education in food safety. **Why Work Here?** We offer comprehensive benefits after 3 months, including 75% coverage for medical, dental, physiotherapy, and chiropractic services.
