The impending retirement of a staff member will soon create a vacancy within the GSCP team, and we are searching for a dynamic, appropriately qualified and experienced **Industrial Engagement Manager** to join us. Our Industrial Engagement Manager plays a leading role in working with Australian companies to enable them to become suppliers to RTX. They must have the sufficient production engineering experience to assess the capabilities of potential suppliers and advise them as to the development needed to join RTX’s supply chain. The Industrial Engagement Manager is accountable for ensuring that companies with the correct capabilities and production experience are available to compete for US opportunities as they arise. The Industrial Engagement Manager could be based in Canberra, Brisbane or Adelaide. **Key Responsibilities** + Establish the very best relationships across and throughout Defence Industry (Suppliers, Government (State), Academia, Commonwealth entities) + Understand the capabilities resident within Australian Defence Industry and how this comes together in the development of export solutions (Prime, sub tiers) + Conduct assessments of Supplier capabilities. Identify shortfalls and work with suppliers, Raytheon Australia staff and US colleagues to address them. + Work with US colleagues to plan and conduct supplier visits and assessment activities as required + Develop the plans necessary to ensure that appropriate levels of effort are provided to companies new to Defence, seeking to move from sub-tiers to “primes” and to complete the Raytheon Enterprise Supplier Assessment + Work closely with Commonwealth GSCP staff + “Project” manage opportunities for Australian Suppliers from kick off to contract award. + The role will require regular inter-state travel and attendance at several trade shows and Commonwealth GSCP activities. **Skills, Experience and Qualifications** + Confident, personable and sufficiently experienced to be able to represent Raytheon Australia, (often as the only company employee “in the room”) during discussions with suppliers and other stakeholders + Formal production engineering or equivalent qualifications. + Chartered Member of an appropriate Professional Institution + Significant supply engineering experience including activities such as vendor selection, manufacturing readiness and production planning + Understanding of and experience working with contemporary Quality Engineering standards. + Experience of working with Raytheon staff in the assessment of Australian suppliers (conduct of Raytheon Enterprise Supplier Assessments - RESA). + Previous engagement with Raytheon (US) programs and staff + Experience in leading small to medium engineering and multi-disciplinary teams This is your chance to join a world class team and make a real difference.
